Defected’s GotSome has delivered a bass-heavy remix of Funk Cartel and Ultra Naté’s Point Blank Recordings track, ‘Supernatural’.
The fresh rework, which premiered over at COMPLEX, features newly recorded vocals by Ultra and is accompanied by its own remix video. The GotSome remix previews the ‘Supernatural’ remix EP (Out Feb 25th) and promo which features a stunning selection of mixes and exclusive promo edits by artists Harry Shadow, John ‘J-C’ Carr, Antonio Kolic, Josh Peace and Ultra Naté & Quentin Harris as Black Stereo Faith. Check out the official video for GotSome’s remix below and stream it everywhere here.
100% produced with the club circuit in mind, GotSome’s version of the track’s original laidback groove brims with confident energy. “I love the original song by Funk Cartel & Ultra Naté but wanted to add my Bristol BASSLINE twist,” he explains. Completely at home within the instrumentation, using the delicate flute and horn sections and Ultra’s iconic vocal as shimmering juxtapositions against the unbridled strut of his bassline; this is a pumped-up, out-and-out invitation from the rising UK star to get off the sidelines and onto the dance floor.
Having burst out with his 2014 Defected single ‘Bassline’, GotSome has gone on to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with within the British scene. Releasing ‘If You Wanna’ with Tazer, ‘Move It Back’ with AC Slater, ’Run Di Dance’ and “None Of Mine’ with Sharlene Hector. He’s also been called upon to remix for the likes of Basement Jaxx, Róisín Murphy, Sigala and Craig David, and has been remixed himself by Kenny Dope, Chocolate Puma, Friend Within and Chus + Ceballos.
