We are excited to announce that Point Blank Online has partnered with Dirtybird Records to create the Equal Opportunity Scholarship – designed to support and give back to the next generation of aspiring BIPOC producers. This scholarship opportunity is exclusively for BIPOC who are passionate and driven to begin producing music or further their career in electronic music production.
Dirtybird is an underground house music label and event company founded by Point Blank alum Claude VonStroke. Recognizing that house and techno music is of black origin, Dirtybird & Point Blank created this scholarship to support diversity in dance music, and help BIPOC gain education in music production.
The Equal Opportunity Scholarship covers all tuition and fees for the Music Production Diploma (Online), a 6-month program in which students will gain skills necessary to write and produce music at a professional level. With our virtual classroom, outside class review sessions, and study forums, Point Blank offers an all-encompassing educational experience from wherever you are in the world. Dirtybird will also provide mentorship in marketing, branding, and career development, as well as a gear grant for each scholarship recipient.
VonStroke says the label is “excited to partner with Point Blank who they believe to be a premier education school for electronic music producers and mentor the next chosen scholarship winner over the next six months.”
How to Apply
The scholarship winner will be announced prior to the start of our next term, beginning on April 11. Complete and submit your application on the Dirtybird website here by March 15. The process for acceptance for this scholarship will include letters of recommendation, an essay, video submission, and an interview. Good luck!
