VOX Samples have released Anchient Colors, available at the intro price of £29.00 / $34.99, increasing to £137.00 / $169.99 after the promotion.
Ancient Colors Analog Console emulates 72-channel non-linear summing by using Vox Samples’ proprietary AAE (Analog Anomaly Emulation) technology, introducing slight tonal and phase imperfections similar to those found in analog hardware.
After inserting this plugin on each of your channels, select your choice of channel strips from the dropdown (It defaults to “1 | 2”). To increase the level of saturation, turn up the large “Drive” knob on the left. “Type” knob will change the type of analog console in use, from clean and transparent to warm. To emulate the noise floor present in real analog hardware, turn up the “Noise” knob.
If the signal gets too hot, simply turn down the “Output” volume, or lower the “Mix” to change the amount of signal that is passed through the analog console. Lastly, to reduce aliasing, an “Oversample” knob is included. Note that by oversampling more CPU load is needed.
Anchient Colors is available to PC and Mac users (VST3 and AU).
