AQUA Straw faithfully recreates vintage units built in the USA by different manufacturers of high-quality, professional audio gear. The centerpiece of this suite is a legendary custom console from the 1970s, once proudly hosted at the Grand Ole Opry, the revered sanctuary of country music in Nashville. In addition to this esteemed vintage console, we have meticulously emulated other rare and refined pieces of gear to deliver an authentic digital representation of the Memphis Magnetic Recording Co. sound.
Acustica and Memphis Magnetic Recording Co. have joined forces for this exciting project to provide you with one of the finest ‘vintage’ plugin suites ever created. Prepare to be immersed in a world where the timeless charm of classic audio equipment converges with the limitless potential of digital technology.
Renowned for their exceptional value and revered status within the american music scene, these consoles have left an indelible mark. They have played a vital role in recording iconic albums like The Rolling Stones’ “Some Girls” and numerous timeless R&B tracks at the famed Sigma Sound in Philly. Today, esteemed artists such as Ryan Adams, Jay Joyce (producer for Cage the Elephant, Coheed and Cambria, Eric Church, and Keith Urban), Cheap Trick, Boston, Marvin Gaye, Lynyard Skynyard and many others continue to rely on these consoles.
What’s included:
- Straw EQ 301: this includes two switchable Class A 3-band equalizers, equipped with Low and High pass filters. It also features exceptional Class A transformer balanced microphone preamps, ensuring superior audio performance.
- Straw EQ 920: this is a comprehensive Graphic equalizer with 11 bands of inductor equalization. It incorporates a high pass filter with six frequencies and 6 dB/octave slope. Additionally, it offers switchable peaking or shelf modes on the highest and lowest bands, along with its pre-amp stage.
- Straw EQ 110: these are Mic pre-amps with Inductor 3-band vintage EQ, along with HP-LP filters.
- Straw Pre: this is a hybrid pre-amp section that encompasses 16 line inputs, 16 mic inputs, and 6 custom pre-amps, providing a total of 38 emulations.
- Straw Comp: it is a FET-based compressor/limiter with its pre-amp stage.
- Straw Channel-strip: this is a comprehensive channel strip that combines the functionalities of Straw EQ 301, Straw Comp, and Straw Pre.
