On the 9th of October, pointblank Music School will be celebrating 500 years of black British music. We are excited to bring together expert panellists to reflect on the rich history and musical contributions of black British artists, discussing key topics such as inclusivity, music evolution, and pushing boundaries. Jay Picasso

Jay Picasso is a seasoned music industry professional with a diverse portfolio spanning artist relations, commercial strategy, and A&R management. Currently serving as the Head of Studios at World Heart Beat Studios, Jay oversees the commercial strategy of the recording studios, ensuring its growth and success in a competitive landscape.

Mary Otumahana

Mary Otumahana is recognised for her remarkable work as the founder of The RecordShop. With a career spanning nine years, Mary has cultivated a formidable network of partnerships with global brands including Virgin Media O2, Samsung, Dr Martens, TFL, Sofar Sounds, FREENOW, Nike, MVT, Tesco, Tottenham Hotspurs, Tesco, BrewDog and RedBull.

Selina Wedderburn

Selina Wedderburn began her music industry career at PPL in 2015, where she spent five years honing her skills and understanding of the business. In 2020, she transitioned to a new role as Head of Operations at Your Army, one of the UK’s leading independent music promotions companies, further broadening her experience in the industry.
