If you’re a DJ or producer who has little experience in music theory, one of the best ways to improve your creativity is turning a single MIDI note into a chord pattern. Not only does it add beautiful harmonics to your melodies but it opens up more opportunities to be creative with your track. At pointblank, we have courses that break down different DAW features and elements. If you’d like to watch a short preview, we’ve got a fun tutorial for you!
Our Curriculum Manager, Chris Martin, explores Ableton Live’s 12 new features and use these MIDI tools to get a chord pattern. He tests out the randomiser, a tool that introduces unpredictability by randomly altering parameters and an arpeggiator, an effect that automatically sequences the notes of a chord in a rhythmic pattern, creating an arpeggio. Click the tutorial below!
